Kutztown Woman Dies Weeks After Crashing Into Tree: Lehigh County Coroner

An 80-year-old woman has just over two weeks after a car crash into a tree, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio announced on Tuesday, July 30.

Marilyn A. Barlip, Greenwich Township, was pronounced dead at Lehigh Valley Hospital at 11:15 a.m. on Monday, July 29, as detailed in the release. 

Her official cause of death is "Complications of Multiple Blunt Force Injuries due to Motor Vehicle Collision" and the manner is an accident, Buglio said.

Barlip was driving a car when she veered off the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a tree in the 300 Block of Rhoades Road in Kutztown around 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, according to the coroner's release.

In addition to the coroner's office, the Pennsylvania State Police Hamburg is investigating.
